International DNA Day

International DNA Day is celebrated on April 25 to commemorate the publication in Nature magazine, by scientists James Watson and Francis Crick, of the discovery of the structure of the DNA double helix in 1953, based on the research of Rosalind Franklin, specifically the "51st X-rayphotograph".

The establishment of this structure has been one of the most important scientific discoveries of the century, allowing subsequent breakthroughs.

In the following infographic we share with you some of the most important milestones in the history of genetics.
